If you have an hour to spare...
Two worlds collided this weekend. Elise mentioned that her dad had done a talk about his book "The End of Overeating" and C-SPAN taped it. It actually aired this past weekend on BookTV. If you have an hour to listen/watch this program I highly recommend it. It's a really fascinating look at why we eat the way we do. It's not just another author talking about being fat.

Adrienne,
Thanks for bringing this book back to my attention and I will read it this summer. I particularly like the discussion of the addiction behavior caused by the eating process. Fortunately, I've also been reading Doige's "The Brain That Changes Itself", which speaks to the neuroplasticity of the brain. We can rewire the way we think... or in this case the way we eat!
agree, agree, agree. It takes time, but I strongly believe that you can rewire your brain to think differently. Start by making small changes to your habits. Stick to them. Eventually, you will change your habits.
Great... now I want Carrot Cake... oh... :(
