Fight Gone Bad

Sunday, September 7;

Fight Gone Bad sucks in a really bad way.
I have broken 300 only once ever while doing this workout and it was at the Crossfit Cert. Last year for the fundraiser I got 297.5 .. serious heartbreak!

Today, my score sucked extra badly. 282 Not where I should be.

This workout is always all about strategy. You have to optimize the movements that you can get the highest numbers of reps from, and you have to conserve energy on movements that you know are not your personal point getters.

In the past, today included, I have set a number for how many points I want to get at each movement for each round. Once I get those points, I move on to the next station. I am beginning to think that this is a good starting point, but I keep missing the final score that I want.

The definition of stupidity is doing the same thing over again and expecting a different outcome. My plan for next time is strategizing in selecting my partner. The deal is to make sure that they are good at math. You may be asking yourself what the hell I am talking about. Now, I had a great counting partner today. She kept her eyes on the clock and on my reps and on my expected score all at the same time. Not an easy task. What I think I'm going to ask is that my partner counts back up to my goal.

For example: My goal is breaking 300. I have my partner count totals instead of counting each sets individual reps. That way, I will be able to keep track of my own goals at each individual station. Then I will also know how far away I am from my final goal. Make sense??

I must also let you all know that my life will get crazy tomorrow. I'm becoming a producer at work from now until the end of the election. I'm not exactly sure what this will involve, but I think my previous job experience has prepared me well. It's going to be a ton of fun.

I also start grad school tomorrow night. So far, I'm a straight A student. Would you expect anything different? I don't expect that to change either. The only down side is that my class starts at 8pm and runs until 10:30pm. That is way past my bed time. Lord help me, and lord help anyone who crosses me on Tuesday morning. Eek!
