I've been hitting a strict zone hard all week. I figure that this is the best way for me to regulate my weight gain since I'm not working out regularly. I've done well and I'm interested to see what the scale says on Monday. It will be a success if it says the exact same thing it said last Monday!
I've also decided to start posting some fun Zone recipes that I've created. The basics are taken from magazines and newspapers and then tweaked so that they fit into our diet.
Here's the first.. if you know me well it makes sense that it's a dessert!

-Combine strawberries, sugar and water in a saucepan over medium heat. Cook until berries are soft. Lower temperature to keep at a low boil. (about 25 minutes)
-combine lemon juice and cornstarch in a bowl, then add to saucepan. Stir until he mixture comes back to a low boil. Remove from heat. Cool for 10 minutes.
-put pineapple on aluminum foil and roast in oven for 5-10 minutes, until excess liquid has evaporated and slices look dry (don't let them brown)
-Use a spoon to mash the cooled berries against the side of the saucepan. Add vanilla extract.

Enjoy!

How is your shoulder doing?
I think I've messed up my rotator doing pull ups.
I will have to give this recipe a try.
I grill pineapple all the time in the summer.
Nick, that's terrible news! How long have you been Crossfitting?
The shoulder keeps getting bettter. It's just taking some patience and rest on my part. Easier said than done!
Take it easy with your rotator cuff. Get it checked out sooner than later. I did extra damage by waiting so long with mine.
I've been Crossfitting (Officially) since December.
I've been Crossfitting a little longer on my own with not as much pull ups involved.
Anyway, I think this is an old injury from about 8 years ago that keeps flaring up. It all started when I used to lift heavy weight.
Today’s Crossfit session was fine. I warmed up quite a bit, but I think I'm going to lay off the pull ups for a little while.
I'll let you know how it goes.
Jumping pullups saved my life.. also you HAVE to warmup your shoulders. Think of it as your regular warmup. It's so important.
